Emily Coe, Ph.D. joins HealthTeacher as Director of Behavioral Health

Newly created role will lead behavioral change modeling

and outcomes measurement of youth health education

 

NASHVILLE, TN (May 3, 2011) - HealthTeacher announced today that Emily Coe, Ph.D. has joined the company as Director of Behavioral Health. Emily is a former Senior Designer of Healthways.

 

"Emily’s proven background in developing and measuring prevention and wellness programs, along with her history in working with schools, healthcare systems, public health and academia, adds an important expertise that will enhance our work in improving youth health,” said Scott McQuigg, CEO of HealthTeacher. “Emily has a passion for youth wellness that blends behavioral science, medical evidence, and creativity – all focused on driving desired health outcomes.”

In the newly created role of Director of Behavioral Health, Emily will apply behavioral intervention models to HealthTeacher’s current and future products along with executing outcomes studies and data analytics on the impact such products have for teachers, families and youth.

Prior to HealthTeacher, Emily was Senior Designer of Innovations at Healthways, Inc., a leader in wellness management.   Previously, Emily was on faculty at the University of Mississippi Medical Center, Department of Preventive Medicine.   She also served as Director of Youth Vision, a non-profit organization advocating teen pregnancy prevention.

 

Emily has authored, co-authored and presented on numerous community health, wellness and prevention health topics. She also volunteers at area schools working with students and faculty to help them evaluate the culture of health on their campus.

Emily earned her Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Health Behavior from the University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Public Health. She earned her masters in Medical Anthropology and her undergraduate degree from the University of Mississippi.
