Arnold Palmer Medical Center Executive Joins HealthTeacher as Vice President of Development

Chris Stowers to lead the development of philanthropic programs to assist healthcare organizationsʼ efforts to improve youth health 

NASHVILLE, TN (October 26, 2011) - HealthTeacher announced today that Chris Stowers, CFRE has joined the company as Vice President of Development. Prior to joining HealthTeacher, Chris was the Executive Director of the Arnold Palmer Medical Center Foundation as well as Chief Operating Officer for Communications & Branding, overseeing the fund raising and marketing efforts for the Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children and the Winnie Palmer Hospital for Women & Babies in Orlando, FL. 

Chris was instrumental in the development of HealthTeacher’s hospital partnership model. In 2008, he spearheaded the efforts for Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children to sponsor the HealthTeacher resources in the six school districts in Central Florida. 

“Chris has a proven track record of developing philanthropic gifts to support health and well-being for children. During his tenure at Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children, he led the development team that funded major capital projects and dozens of community youth and family outreach programs, developing support from both national and local corporate partners,” said Scott McQuigg, CEO of HealthTeacher. “Chris brings this expertise and passion to HealthTeacher in an effort to help our healthcare partners align with organizations and businesses to support community-based youth health and wellness programs.”

Previously, Chris was with Arnold Palmer Medical Center and its parent company, Orlando Health, for nearly 17 years where he served in the Foundation, Strategic Communications and the Managed Care divisions. 

Chris earned his Master of Public Health from the Rollins School of Public Health at Emory University and his B.A. in Speech Communication at the University of Florida. He earned his Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) designation in 2004.
