About the Delaware Council on Gambling Problems
The Delaware Council on Gambling Problems offers confidential assistance to gamblers, their families, and to those who are concerned about a friend or colleague.
The Council provides literature, support meeting information, treatment information, and 24-hour help. Speakers are available for community groups and for professional training.
The mission of the Delaware Council on Gambling Problems is to raise public awareness that compulsive gambling is a treatable disorder, and to facilitate the development of a network of services for compulsive gamblers and their families in Delaware.
Accomplishment of this mission is carried out through a program encompassing:
- Public education and information through public speaking, literature distribution, community presentations, etc.
- Referral services.
- Training of health professionals in identification and treatment of compulsive gambling.
- Advocacy at all levels of government and social policy.
- Research.
The Delaware Council on Gambling Problems is a private nonprofit agency funded primarily through the Division of Substance Abuse, and Mental Health, the State of Delaware. Funding in part for the online presentation of information and lessons guides was made through Delaware Department of Education.
