LESSON GUIDE DEVELOPMENT

Each Lesson Guide in HealthTeacher.com is an original lesson plan that has gone through a creative process that includes the following steps:

  • A publisher with experience both in health education and in publishing health education materials and who is active in their professional field creates the lesson content guide.
  • A writer / or a panel of writers is selected and hired by the publisher or by Relegent to write specific lessons according to the publisher's lesson content guide, the Assessment Framework and the National Health Education Standards
  • The writers research their content area and write the lesson according to the publisher's guidelines, the NHES and the Assessment Framework. Each lesson is to be original content, with attributions made when outside content is used.
  • The lesson is submitted to the publisher for content review. It may be returned to the writer any number of times for re-writing or for additional research.
  • If the lesson passes the initial content review, it goes to the editor for editorial review. Again, it may be returned to the writer for corrections.
  • The lesson undergoes final review by the publisher to assure that it meets NHES and that an assessment can be created based on the lesson guide. The publisher or experienced designee creates the assessment item for the lesson.
  • The completed article is submitted to Relegent for incorporating into the site plan, for developing any needed background information or identifying web-links, tools, or other resources appropriate to the lesson.

CONTENT CONTRIBUTED BY SITE USERS

Lesson plans and articles may be submitted to HealthTeacher.com for publication on the site, however each plan and article must pass a preliminary screen. If the lesson plan or article passes the initial screen, it must go through each of the above steps before being published on the site.

Payment for each article that is published on the site will be negotiated in advance with Relegent once the content passes the preliminary screening process. The writer must agree to perform any requested re-writes by the editor at no additional charge.
Articles and lesson plan drafts can be submitted for review by e-mail
