Synopsis

Using a story and a "doctor's kit," students learn the importance of immunizations, then draw pictures that show who gives them immunizations and where they go to get them. Students are asked to explain the importance of immunizations.

    Have book The Berenstain Bears Go to the Doctor, by Jan and Stan Berenstain, to read to students.

    Have doctor's kits for students, if possible.

    Add a picture of a syringe or a child getting a shot to the unit bulletin board.

    One or two 20-minute sessions
