Researchers at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center have discovered a link between what preteen girls eat and their likelihood of developing an eating disorder later on. After studying the food choices of 800 girls, some as young as 9 years old, researchers determined that a diet high in carbohydrates and very low in fat at age 15 was a good predictor of developing eating disorder symptoms by age 19. This was particularly true for girls who considered themselves perfectionists.
